Lululemon Watch Out, There's a New Manifesto in Town...Holstee!

I l.o.v.e inspirational sayings and the Lululemon manifesto is one of my favourites. It has been posted on my wall since first year university and I can quote it like it's nobody's business! (P.s. In writing this post, I went and checked out the Lululemon site and they've CHANGED some parts of the manifesto! I actually like the new one better....shhhh!!) Anyways, I believe there's a Lululemon manifesto saying for all of life's situations. For example:

SITUATION: Bad breakup

Lululemon Saying: Wake up and realize you are surrounded by amazing friends OR Life is full of setbacks. Success is determined by how you handle setbacks.

SITUATION: Work is stressing you to the max

Lululemon Saying: Stress is related to 99% of all illness OR A daily hit of athletic-induced endorphins gives you the power to make better decisions, helps you be at peace with yourself, and offsets stress.

SITUATION: Feeling kind of bored with everything...
Lululemon Saying: Dance, sing, floss and travel OR Creativity is maximized when you're living in the moment.

SITUATION: In need of general motivation

Lululemon Saying: Successful people replace the words 'wish', 'should' and 'try' with 'I WILL' OR The conscious brain can only hold one thought at a time. Choose a positive thought.

Recently, I've noticed a new manifesto running around the blogosphere which is as equally amazing as the Lululemon one! Behold, the Holstee Manifesto:

AMAZING! Holstee is a company that sells kickass products, that are sustainably made, with a social impact, as they describe it. From their upcycled* t-shirts, to their fair trade renewable wood earbuds, to their famous recycled wallet and the organic cotton jersey dress that is hand made in Uganda, this company truly has unique products that allow you to feel confident that you are contributing to a socially responsible company with a conscience. In everything that Holstee does, they try make a positive social impact. Directly from their website, check out some of their initiatives:

- Many of their curated products ship directly from designers meaning that they don't need to be shipped 2+ times before reaching you. They've also partnered with carbonfund.org to offset the shipping they can't reduce.

- They encourage all curated designers to keep their packaging to a minimum. For their own products, they get creative in finding ways to keep their packaging to the bare necessities.

- 10% of all sales at Holstee are used to empower entrepreneurs in the developing world through micro-lending.

Holstee's take charge of your life manifesto, and ethical operating procedures has given its poster a spot beside my beloved Lululemon poster, and its site a favorite on my bookmarks.
